Regulatory Authority for Energy
Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE) is the national regulatory authority for electricity and gas.
Among its main responsibilities are the following:
Monitoring and supervision of the energy market & consumer protection
Consumers may, within the framework of the RAE’s responsibilities regarding the monitoring and supervision of the energy market and consumer protection, address the Authority on issues related to the procedure for the supply of energy products, their rights and obligations towards energy suppliers and any problems they face, as well as on issues related to their connection to the natural gas network.
RAE Decision No. 1479/2020 on the RAE’s Decision No. 1058/2020 review request
Against RAE’s Decision No. 727/2021, the company EDA Attikis Single Member S.A. has legally and in due time filed before RAE a request for its review in accordance with the corresponding procedure provided for by law. Furthermore, the company EDA Attikis Single Member S.A. has appealed before Athens Administrative Court of Appeal against the Decisions of RAE No. 1058/2020 and 1479/2020, which are the basis of the above-mentioned RAE’s Decision No. 727/2021. Accordingly, the company EDA Attikis Single Member S.A. reserves its legal rights from taking into effect the aforementioned legal remedies.
Provision of authorisations
RAE decides on the provision, amendment and revocation of licenses on activities related to the energy sector, in accordance with the specific provisions of the Energy Law, provided that the principles of transparency and equal treatment are in compliance, and taking into account the specific characteristics of the applicants, the protection of consumers, the protection of the environment while ensuring conditions of healthy competition.
