Gas saving tips
for the household and the business

Burner – Boiler – Indoor Installation

• For the correct adjustment of the burner, we schedule annual maintenance by certified technicians. In this way, we achieve the highest possible efficiency with the lowest possible gas consumption.

• We check the tightness of the internal gas installation and do not interfere with it, ensuring its proper and safe operation.

• Make sure to keep the maximum heating water temperature of the condensing boiler below 60 degrees.

• To ensure the highest degree of efficiency, we replace old-style gas boilers with condensing boilers.

• In apartment buildings with central heating without room thermostats in the apartments, we install a digital compensation unit. (Without hydraulic interventions and with a combination of sensors, the compensation unit accurately detects the external ambient temperature and the boiler water temperature, so we have the right temperature inside the apartments.)

Heating system

• We replace the old analogue thermostat with a new generation digital thermostat, which can be programmed, switched on/off and set the temperature at different times of the day.
• Lower the temperature on the thermostat by 2-3 oC, with a maximum temperature of 19-20OC. So we can save up to 15% of energy.
• We set the thermostat temperature below 17 oC when we are away. It is advisable to do the adjustment at least one hour before leaving the room.
• Replace the valves/switches of the radiator bodies with thermostatic valves to provide the choice of a different temperature in each room. Depending on the use of each room, we set the thermostatic coil to a lower temperature or isolate it. We turn off the heaters in rooms that are not in use.
• Regularly and properly ventilate radiators, avoid covering and painting them, and remove bulky objects from them to reduce heat loss.
• We close internal doors that lead to corridors or stairs.

Hot water – Cooking

• We use cold water where possible.
• We limit the use of hot water (e.g. in our daily hygiene)
and replace the hot water supply with a smaller one (e.g. adjust the shower head accordingly).
• We cook smart: We use lids on our cookware, we prefer
the pressure cooker and make sure not to open the oven door.

Building care

• We seal windows and doors (internal and external) with special sealing profiles, especially in unheated areas.
• Ventilate the rooms properly: Open doors and windows at appropriate times of the day and prefer total ventilation of short duration to partial ventilation of long duration.
• Limit heat loss from windows by covering them with curtains and/or closing shutters earlier in the evening.
• We apply insulation or maintain the existing insulation in roofs and walls and replace the windows with new insulation.
