Delivery Point Construction
Upon the signature of the connection contract agreement, Enaon EDA proceeds with the construction of the delivery point at your property.
Initially, if required, a specialized crew will construct the gas supply pipeline, which connects the gas network with your building, and install the gas regulator to provide pressure regulation for domestic use. The gas meter for measuring this consumption is placed at a pre-agreed location with Enaon EDA, which will meet the requirements of technical specifications and easy access.
The location of the delivery point shall be carefully determined to ensure that all the individual apartments in a block of flats can be connected and not just a part of them. In the case that a property has already an active natural gas supply the new delivery point shall be placed in a position close to the existing one. Typical location for the construction of the delivery point is on the property’s boundary line or upon request and agreement with Enaon EDA inside the boundary line and/or at the height of the apartment balconies using a riser connection.
G4 and G6 capacity meters
In the case of G4 and G6 capacity meters, Enaon EDA will initially install a support accessory/console called “Mensola” at the specified connection point for the construction of the delivery point.
Each “Mensola” will have a label displaying the customer’s HKASP (Identification Number of Delivery Point). Once the support console (Mensola) is installed, the construction of the delivery point is considered complete, and a relevant electronic notification will be sent to the customer.
The installation of the measuring device will take place in a subsequent stage during the activation of the internal installation by the competent personnel of Enaon EDA.
Meters with a capacity greater than G6
In cases of meters with a capacity greater than G6, the support console (Mensola) will not be used. The construction of the delivery point is a complete process with the installation of the meters.
Depending on the category of consumer, the connection type and the meter location, consumers are charged the relevant connection fees.
Connection using a riser
The riser connection is an alternative technical solution for the independent connection (independent heating) of individual apartments in blocks of flats, whereby the gas meters are placed outside the building at the height of the apartment balconies and at a short distance from the gas appliances. The connection by means of a lifting riser is for the whole building, i.e. it is applied in order to enable the connection of all individual apartments in a block of flats and not for part of them.

Description of riser
The riser is a gas piping assembly that starts from the gas regulator and consists of:
- a vertical riser that extends outwards on the face of the building and up to the height of the balconies of the building, reaching the height of the top floor,
- an arrangement of pipes (underground or aboveground) at ground floor level from the air flow regulator to the lower end of the lifting riser,
- horizontal pipes (of smaller diameter) running externally on the exterior of the eaves and distributing water supply to the heaters of one or several dwellings in the property.
The advantages of standalone connection using riser
- It enables connection in cases where there is difficulty in connection with the usual arrangement of multiple meters at ground floor level due to limited available space (e.g. large buildings on shopping streets with shops on the ground floor of the building).
- A significant reduction in the cost of building an internal installation is achieved as the meter is placed at balcony level and at a short distance from the individual boiler, thus reducing the required length of pipework.
- A single central vertical gas pipe is constructed on the face of the building, supplying each apartment in the building horizontally, achieving less intervention on the face of the building.
- Natural gas meters are new technology “smart meters”, which allow remote metering of consumption, thus reducing the required visits to your premises.
In case of connection with a lifting riser the connection fees are differently structured according to the number of meters per riser.
Clarification for the connection via riser
- The construction of a riser binds the whole of a block of flats by means of a self-segregation of the flats.
- EDA Attikis S.A. examines requests for independent connection of apartments through risers ONLY in apartment buildings with three (3) floors or more, not including the ground floor, regardless of the total number of apartments.
- The construction of risers shall not apply in the following cases:
- In the case where there is already an active gas supply with meters installed in the building, regardless of the use.
- In the case of apartment buildings with a construction permit issued after 2004 (newly built buildings), for which a gas study has already been submitted to EDA Attikis S.A. (and therefore the possibility of connecting the apartments to the gas supply has been foreseen).
- In case where, in an apartment building, there is a desire by certain apartment owners to be connected to a stand-alone connection while the others wish to be connected via central heating.
