Correct Isolation and Installation Reactivation
Enaon EDA provides you with the following useful information and advice on the correct procedure for the isolation and restarting of internal gas installations and appliances.
In the event that your appliances (e.g., central heating boiler, individual gas boiler, etc.) are not used for a long period of time and you decide to close the tap of your internal installation, the following actions should be carried out in order not to activate the automatic gas shut-off mechanism of your supply regulator by incorrect handling:
Α) Actions to shut off the gas appliances:
- Check that all Gas appliances are shut off
- Move the internal installation tap located at the outlet of the Gas Meter from the “open” position to the “closed” position.
Β) Actions prior to the start-up of the gas appliances:
- Check that all Gas appliances are shut off
- If there is a solenoid valve in the internal installation, check that it is connected to the electricity supply and is in the “open” position
- Gradually open, with slight movements, the valve of the internal installation located at the outlet of the N.G. meter until the valve handle is at an angle of 45Ο to the horizontal axis. Wait for approximately ten (10) seconds and then gradually move the tap to the “open” position. Wait for approximately ten (10) seconds and then gradually move the tap to the “open” position.
- Upon completion of the above step, you may reopen the N.G. devices.
Additionally, we would like to remind you that the internal installation and gas appliances are operated under your responsibility. Therefore, internal Gas installations must be checked for tightness by licensed installers once every 4 years, pursuant to the Decree 112/2012, who should issue a leakage certificate for your records.
Furthermore, please contact a licensed gas combustion appliance maintainer, according to the Presidential Decree P.D. 114/2012, for the minimum annual preventive inspection of these appliances in accordance with Government Gazette 2654/2011. The adjustment of the gas combustion units, as defined in the above legislation, must be repeated at least annually and is the responsibility of the consumer.
Eventually, we recommend the inspection of the flue gas extraction system and its maintenance from any liquefaction, always in collaboration with the supervising engineer of the internal gas installation and, if appropriate, the replacement of the old extraction system with a new one. Pursuant to paragraph 3.1. of the regulation Government Gazette 976/B/28.3.2012, in case of a new installation or changes (modifications – extensions) to an existing installation, the consumer is obliged to submit a relevant study to the Gas Distribution Company for approval.
In advance, we would like to express our gratitude to you for complying with the above instructions, which will contribute to the safe and uninterrupted operation of your installation.
