Before starting any excavation work:

  • Please contact Enaon EDA at 11322
  • Apply for information on the existence of a gas network
  • Collection plans
  • Receive the Excavation Permit before work begins
  • Take the existence of a gas network into account in your study
  • Comply with the safety measures and the instructions of Enaon EDA
  • Ensure that the plans and the permit are available at the site throughout the work and that your workers are aware of them

Actions be taken in case of damage:

Damage to a natural gas pipeline

  • Block the excavation and enclose the surrounding area
  • Call Enaon EDA (11322) for an assessment and evaluation of the damage to the pipeline
  • Do not proceed with resurfacing before the completion of the meticulous inspection by Enaon EDA has been completed

In case of dismantling signs or cathodic protection risers

  • Keep and protect the signs
  • Do not proceed with repositioning without the agreement of Enaon EDA – the exact position of this equipment can ONLY be guaranteed by Enaon EDAs’ technicians.

In case of uncovered gas pipeline work, follow the instructions of the Excavation Permit

Damage to a natural gas pipeline Measures to be taken in case of damage and gas leakage

  • Stop any work immediately
  • Interrupt the operation of machinery
  • Move away and contact the Contact the Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC) of Enaon EDA 8001111330
  • Fence off the dangerous area
  • Remove technical personnel and residents
  • Contact the police by dialing 100
  • Do not attack – Do not attempt to repair the damage
  • In case of fire, call the fire brigade at 199
