Natural Gas Network
Gas supply chain
Introduction:The Greek gas market is primarily supplied from Russia, Algeria and Turkey by companies holding a Supply Licence.
Transportation: Natural gas is imported in gaseous form via Bulgaria and the Greek-Turkish border and transported through high-pressure pipelines of the National Natural Gas Transmission System to the rest of Greece or in liquefied form via tankers and stored at Revithoussa LNG Terminal. Responsible for the transport of the gas is the National Natural Gas System Operator (DESFA) S.A.

Supply: The marketing of natural gas to small residential, commercial and large industrial and commercial consumers, is serviced by the gas supplier.
Description of Enaon EDA’s distribution network

The low-pressure network comprises approximately 3.632 km of low-pressure pipelines supplying domestic, commercial and industrial uses. The low pressure network consists of approximately 3.112 km of low pressure network with a nominal operating pressure of 4 bar and polyethylene network as well as 520 km of 23 mbar nominal operating pressure of polyethylene or cast iron network – which is mainly found in the central area of Athens and which is gradually being replaced.
